Healing Love
05:04
|
|||
I'm tired of treading water
It's just so damn hard
To keep from going under
And stay true to who you are.
Then I see you from across the waves
Beautiful as heaven.
And now I find I can run across the surface to you,
You've given me direction.
You, you make me come unglued
Then you put me back together
From the ground up with your love.
Now I’m a better man
Forever in your hands
I’m who I am for your healing love.
Verse 2:
I’m gonna take all those sad songs
And turn’em on their heads
‘Cause I’m so sick of singing “woe is me”
I’m gonna raise my voice instead
CHORUS
When I come in from the cold
Your body warms my soul
You’re everything I need
And even when we’re old
And every story is told
You and I will still run like children to the sea.

Man Like Me
04:29
|
|||
It’s so dark that I can’t see
Anything but the light from the TV
It’s an old home video of you and me
The day you locked your keys on the car seat
I couldn’t help but tape the whole thing
With every helpless look your lips quivering
Until you asked me to put it down and break you in
And then it’s cut to now, you did me in.
I know exactly what went wrong
Too much love and not enough money
I know someday you’ll go a long, long way
To find a man like me
‘Cause a man like me is what you need.
The air is cold as a dead lead.
I can tell from the smoke when your breath leaves
You huddle close then you’re off screen
I couldn’t help but have that great big grin
When I held the camera out so we could both get in
I should have known that day that I could never win
And then it’s cut to now, you did me in.
CHORUS
Knowing why you left, doesn’t make it fine
So I’ll start with the evidence, and erase the rest in time

These Streets
05:37
|
|||
I just hope that my worn down legs,
Can carry me to a place where I can rest.
I just hope that my punch drunk mind,
Still has the strength to reason with my body.
These streets have given me nothing at all,
But I’ve made form it everything I have
I know I deserve more than this,
But they take from me. These Streets take from me.
Chemicals flow, meant to ease my pain,
But only serve well to decimate my body,
With every new day, comes a chance for change
With every night, another broken promise.
CHORUS
Every punch thrown, at a friend or a foe,
Will never repair the emptiness that binds me.
Every lost soul wants to be found,
Somehow I doubt you could find me.
